The Comment Management System allows comment creation and editing, but also preserves the ability of a moderator to filter and/or edit comments.  This gating system can be critical for some web sites as comments are often written by and for the public and almost anything can appear there including spam.

The comments can be seen and managed using the comments section and shortcut link on the left menu and on the dashboard.

When editing a comment you can change the following elements – see the screen shot below.

The comment status is seen at the top right of the edit comment screen and can be set by the moderator.

The Akismet plugin comes as part of the wordpress system and only needs to be activated.  This plugins helps reduce spam dramatically and is highly recommended for use.
