Themes
A theme is a template set of files, tags, and style sheets that are used together to give a specific look and feel to a wordpress site. Most of our work as a development company is to create Themes from custom design files. To change to a new theme or to upload a new theme for use. Themes can be found under the appearance heading and lead to this screen below.
From the list of available themes you can select “Activate” to make a chosen theme the current theme. Once activated it will change the entire web site’s look and feel from graphics and colors to navigation. We suggest using preview before activating any theme to see how it will affect your site. While themes are a very fast way to deploy wholesale changes to your web site, which is great, there also comes a risk.
Adding a new theme to your site is very easy – just select “Add New Theme” from the appearance menu. If you have an existing theme, you can upload it to the directory /wp-content/themes. There is also an option to search for free themes and activate them. Those themes are very basic. See the example below.
